There are thousands of idioms, proverbs and "special" words, but there are only two ways to memorize them: living in an English speaking country or watching videos from our library.
This app is for those who understand the importance of idioms and realize that it is useless to learn them using dictionaries. It can be done, however, watching them being used by native speakers in the news, movies, songs and even cartoons. There are transcripts and explanations for all videos.

Idioms are very common in English language. For instance, you can find 3 idioms in one very short CNN episode: work cut out, long shot, state-of-the-art. There is also ‘to run out’ which is not an idiom but a phrasal verb, yet what’s the point of having a discussion about what an idiom is? Our goal is to provide living examples explaining the use of ‘strange’ words and constructions. So dont be surprised that we provide examples not only of idioms, but also sayings and quotations of famous people, and even just exotic words: ‘bellwether’, ‘doldrums’, etc. Currently there are around one thousand units and this number is constantly growing
If you are a teacher your students will surely appreciate our collection. You will find it useful too.

Idioms are not icing on a cake! They ARE “the cake”! BTW “icing on a cake” is an idiom too. It is one of the gems of our vast collection.
Someone once said that idioms are the salt and pepper of the language. Sweet icing, sugar, salt, pepper – we need them all so the taste does not matter. Bottom line: you need this app. Do you want to know what “bottom line” means?
